Your Preconception Checkup


It's a great idea to get a medical checkup before getting pregnant to make sure your body is ready to have a baby. At your checkup, talk to your health care provider about:
  • Your family history
  • Any medicine you take, including herbs and over-the-counter or prescription drugs
  • Making sure that your vaccinations are up-to-date
  • Any medical conditions you have, like diabetes or high blood pressure
  • How long you should wait between pregnancies
